A celebrity judge from Food Network's "Chopped,” rolled into Boise for multiple appearances. I had the privilege to work as a production assistant for her future reality show. She appeared at A’ Tavola to sign copies of her new cookbook, “Flavors of my world”. After, we headed to Westside Drive-in to judge a culinary Competition for young culinary students, which is part of “The cutting edge tour”, 31 days -21 cities and more than 65 events. We then ended the day at Barbacoa were fans tried her cuisine partnered by the local chef. All the attendees received a signed cook book, a specialty cocktail, a 4-course meal, and wine pairing. The production crew was very friendly and gave me a lot of insight to the industry. Maneet Chauhan is a true inspiration and she gave me great words of wisdom. I wish her all the best and her crew in their future success. Earlier today my two sisters and I had a Ballet Folklorico Show for a Retirement Facility in boise, ID. It was a joy to share the preforming arts of Mexico. So I decided to do a small shoot for this special occasion of Cinco de Mayo. I hope you enjoy this Jalisco inspired image of my Sister Vanessa.
It was great to see the church finally built. It was a beautiful Mass, there was more than 1,500 people and more than 20 priests. I'm very happy that I had the chance to document this day. I have put together a Photo slideshow with some of the pictures I took. Enjoy! Couple weeks back, I was asked to make a floral arrangement for the Virgen de Guadalupe. But, I thought I would make a couple more arrangements instead of just making one. I love working with flowers and donating my time to the community of St. Paul's Catholic Church. The flowers were displayed at the Dedication Mass for the new St. Paul's church on Sunday, April 21, 2013.
I had fun doing family portraits for my sister. I had a vision to create some great images, but it was getting really chilly. I got what I needed to create two photographs. After photographing them outside, I decided to take my gear and finish the photo session at her home.
This was a great project for me. I never have time to create images like this. I had my sister pose for me and I was able to put this together!
A couple weeks ago I did my first baby photoshoot, it was quite the experience. I felt like i did an okay job getting the concept of creating something I can be proud of. Every style of photography has it's differences and style. but, I'm trying to challenge myself. Which, I am very happy I had the opportunity to photograph baby Jessica. A girls father is one of the most influential people in her life, from infant to toddler to tween to teen. This is one of my favorite photos. I finally got a chance to do my first Senior photoshoot. I was very lucky that my senior was a total natural. I can't wait to do more in the future. It was fire season! I was trying to get some beautiful sunset images, but there was still a lot of smoke in the atmosphere. I was still able to get some great picture of Magedalena Flores. At the end I got a great silhouette picture with sun in the background. My sister assisted me in this shoot by recording some back scene footage. Enjoy!
This last weekend I shot a wedding that took place at the St. Chappelle vineyard in Caldwell. The couple celebrated their 10 year anniversary. I had a great time taking photographs for this event. Criselda and Ricardo are amazing couple that well continue to celebrate their marriage for many years to come. It was great honor to be part of their 10th anniversary. Much appreciation….. Jorge
